I understand now why you’re such a raving love optimist… You spend all your time taking pictures of people at their most hopeful and optimistic. It obviously has infected you. Just like a divorce lawyer usually becomes jaded. Or a jailer has a skewed perception of human rights. You have an unrealistic optimism as relates to love because you’re the documentarian of people in the throws of it… When I saw a documentary about war photographers… it clicked. You documenters of life become influenced by your area of expertise.
